I have been horrible keeping up with my Art Blogs! I find it much easier to make a post on social media and share a few photos of what I am currently working on. I try to do regular Instagram posts.
This past winter I painted a mixture of subjects: some islands, a lot of Canadian Shield and White Pine trees. I never seem to tire of water views, white pine trees and rock.
I enjoy painting the movement in the trees and the movement of the air around the trees. Have you ever smelled the scent of pine trees when you walking underneath the trees and stepping on the pine needles on the ground? I can never get enough of that scent…it just reminds me of summer and happy times.
This past November and again this May, I dropped work off at Killarney Mountain Lodge’s Canada House, Canada’s largest log conference centre. It is built on the rocks looking out of the Killarney Channel towards Georgian Bay. If you are camping at Killarney Provincial Park, or just visiting Killarney on a day or boat trip, make sure you walk through Killarney Mountain Lodge’s grounds and go explore Canada House.
Also in May, Carola from Red Canoe Gallery in Bala picked up a few new pieces. Be sure to check them out on your drive through Muskoka.
This coming June 20th, I will have an Art booth of student artwork, set up at a local outdoor art show called Stoney Steps Artfest in Newburgh. I work with high school students who have developmental disabilities. The work is very expressive and VERY affordable. All proceeds go to the students. Here is a photo from our booth last year:
